Biryani

Perfect For: Aromatic and festive meals
Ideal Rice: Patran 1121 Sella Basmati​ 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Patran 1121 Sella Basmati Rice (soaked for 30 minutes)

  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

  • 1 bay leaf, 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom pods

  • 1 sliced onion

  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas)

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon biryani masala

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 cups water

  • Fresh coriander and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan; add whole spices and sauté until aromatic.

  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste; cook for a minute.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes; cook until soft.

  5. Mix in vegetables, turmeric, biryani masala, and salt; cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Add soaked rice and water; bring to a boil.

  7. Cover and simmer on low heat until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

  8. Garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves before serving.
