Biryani
Perfect For: Aromatic and festive meals
Ideal Rice: Patran 1121 Sella Basmati
Ingredients:
1 cup Patran 1121 Sella Basmati Rice (soaked for 30 minutes)
2 tablespoons ghee or oil
1 bay leaf, 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom pods
1 sliced onion
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 chopped tomato
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon biryani masala
Salt to taste
2 cups water
Fresh coriander and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Heat ghee in a pan; add whole spices and sauté until aromatic.
Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
Stir in ginger-garlic paste; cook for a minute.
Add chopped tomatoes; cook until soft.
Mix in vegetables, turmeric, biryani masala, and salt; cook for 5 minutes.
Add soaked rice and water; bring to a boil.
Cover and simmer on low heat until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
Garnish with fresh coriander and mint leaves before serving.
